About This Service

Change of ownership updates the current titleholder on the motor vehicle registration certificate. It is required when you purchase a pre-owned vehicle, complete vehicle finance, or receive a vehicle from a deceased estate. After change of ownership, you must register and license the vehicle within 21 days, or arrears and penalties apply.

Note: Categories covered: Bank to Private, Company to Company, Company to Private, Private to Company, Private to Private, and From Deceased Estate.

Documents Required

  • Original green NaTIS RC1
  • Buyer and seller ID copies
  • Proof of address
  • BRNC/proxy documents (for companies)
  • Bank settlement letter (if financed)
  • Roadworthy certificate (where required)
  • NCO form
  • RLV form
  • Signed affidavit completed at our offices
